Still, with touring being nearly impossible for the near future, we might see a lot more bands deciding that the extra payday is worth it. I can't really fault them when one of their biggest revenue sources is getting hammered.

I actually don't have much of a problem with this as long as it's the artist that made it a hit and preferably, the hit version. I feel the same way when older songs are used in shows although obviously some of the covers are pretty good too. But if they take a rock hit and turn it into elevator music for their ad, it turns me away from the product they are pushing.
