The Emirates Stadium club are set to sign the 6ft 7in Frenchman as manager Mikel Arteta wants him at North London. Meslier is a free agent after leaving Leeds United last week, and he is hoping a move to Arsenal reignites his career. The Gunners are looking to make additions in attack, midfield and defence, with the owners ready to back Arteta again.

The Spaniard wants to retain the Premier League title next season after last term’s triumph. Arsenal are also desperate to go one better in the Champions League after losing last season’s final to Paris Saint-Germain.

They need a better and quality squad depth to get the job done, and fans will be desperate to see their club sign players capable of improving the team.
