The 116th annual IHSAA boys basketball state tournament is getting ready to start.
The first step of the journey comes Sunday, Feb. 22, with the release of the sectional brackets via the annual blind draw. The IHSAA Champions Network is set to reveal all 64 sectional fields across a 2-hour show, 6-8 p.m., Sunday night. A total of eight sectionals cover schools in the South Bend Tribune coverage area.
State wrestling: New Prairie's Matthew Staples back-to-back IHSAA boys wrestling state champ
Girls basketball: Bremen girls basketball shows its heart in semi-state title game loss
A lot of attention locally will be on the Class 4A, Sectional 3 draw. Normally a six-team affair, Saint Joseph has joined the group after back-to-back years in 3A that saw them finish state runner-up and state champion, respectively. Can the Huskies continue its postseason success in a bigger Class, or will defending sectional champ Riley ― or potentially someone else ― derail their dreams?
Follow along LIVE as we reveal the South Bend Tribune coverage area IHSAA boys basketball sectional brackets. This story will be updated after the show with analysis of the key matchups.
