If Ben and Eli are both gone -heck they both might be there too for all we know- who would you take?
If you pick Other tell us who and if you pick Trade Down give us a deal. Thanks.

Trade down with the Falcons. They are a team that definitely could use Fitzgerald. That would slide us down only to the #7 spot.

Secure either an additional 1st rounder next year or 2 second rounders (this year and next year).

At #7 you have your choice between (in order of preferance)

S-Sean Taylor (unlikely to be there)
DT-Tommie Harris
TE-Kellen Winslow Jr
WR-Roy Williams
DE-Kenechi Udeze

One of those guys would be there and would all be upgrades. I know we have a good TE right now in Jones, but Winslow Jr will be a game breaking TE.

I'll Take Winslow Teamate in Taylor. The guy will be a stud in the NFL.

Let me quantify the above statement. Quality safeties are a dime a dozen in the NFL right now. It is a buyers market.

The only reason I even list him is because the talent potential...

Would grab Taylor at 3 cause Washington or the Lions won't get past them.

But is Taylor that much better than any of the other options that would be there a few picks later? I am not so sure about that.

Again safety is an embarassment of riches in talent in the NFL, and this would mean that we have given up on Wilson.

The real key is gaining the extra picks by sliding back.

I personally believe the first step in rebuilding this franchise is a franchise level QB.

BUT if we are going to be stuck with McClown for another year, then let's fill as many holes as possible try to make some noise next season.

Sean Taylor would be my first choice, but the more I think about it Fitzgerald would solidify the receiving corps. for years to come. Given his ties with the Vikings during the Green era I'm sure he'll get a long look by the staff. Green didn't really have a franchise QB until Culpepper, so McCown to Boldin, Johnson, or Fitzgerald doesn't sound all that bad.
