Ian Poulter has always been one of LIV Golf’s biggest cheerleaders since he joined the league from the PGA and DP World tours back in 2022.
Poulter, 50, is still waiting for his first LIV Golf win, but he seems to be finding some form in the twilight years of his career.
The Englishman made his debut at the US Senior Open last month and secured a fourth-placed finish.
Now Ian Poulter‘s attention is firmly on LIV Golf and the future of the league.

Earlier this week, Scott O’Neil announced that he has secured new investment for LIV Golf.
And as things stand, the league will continue on into 2027 and beyond.
Ian Poulter is now eligible to play on the DP World Tour again, after settling the outstanding fines that he owed.
But it seems as though he’ll be fully focused on LIV Golf in 2027.
Ian Poulter delighted with ‘amazing news’ coming in about LIV Golf
Poulter was asked what he made of the announcement that LIV Golf have received new investment ahead of the 2027 season.
“Look, it’s amazing news,“ the Englishman replied.
“Two weeks ago we didn’t have it there. Right now it’s right there in place. I think it’s exceptional someone believes in the product. There’s going to be a lot of options for a lot of guys to have it go forward.

“It’s extremely exciting, and the hours that people have worked to find that funding, I respect them for all those hours that they’ve been trying. It’s amazing news.“
The thing is, O’Neil didn’t specifically name who the new investors are.
Nor did he elaborate on the size of the investment. So it’s fair to say that, without any specific details being given, there isn’t really much to be excited about just yet.
Ian Poulter responds to question about his future plans
The 50-year-old was asked by one reporter whether he plans to play in more senior tournaments next year, as well as the LIV Golf events.
“I don’t know,“ Poulter admitted.
“Listen, this week is about focusing on playing well to try to win this golf tournament.
“It’s a big week for us. I still need to move forward, and I still need to prove I’ve still got it.
“That’s exactly where my focus is, and ’27 is ’27.“
As mentioned earlier, Ian Poulter has now paid his outstanding DP World Tour fines, so he will be free to play there alongside LIV Golf events.
He is also eligible for the senior majors, so it will be interesting to see what the Englishman’s schedule looks like in 2026.
