Sun I think you are overreacting

I have been a fan for 30 years and I have lived thru the George Boone days and let me tell you Kelly Stouffer was much worse than this. I would re-think your preverbial jump off the wagon and this is why. Every blind squirrel finds an acorn every once in awhile. I was jumping and Hooting and hollering and grinning from ear to ear for 6 months when the Cards went to the playoffs and beat Dallas in 98. And although I do share your pain and I firmly do not like Rod Graves I will stick with this team because I know one thing to be true - the worm will turn. Graves one day will be gone and probably he will have done nothing but brought utter destruction and maybe not but as long and Goofy Bill doens't change the name and the helmet I will always support the Big bird on the helmet and I will always remember the glory days of Jim Hart, Mel Gray, Dan Dierdorf, Neil Lomax, Roy Green and yes Plummer to Sanders and every kicker who booted that last minute winner in 98-Nedney mostly!

I hate to see you go but if you must remember that one day you will want to return and it just won't be the same!

Let's see. Rod Graves mentions during the offseason that the Cards need to pick up 2 WR, 2 DL, and a LB. So far in the draft, we have picked up 2 WR that seem pretty good from all reports so far. We pick up a LB in the 3rd that, according to most write-ups I have read, should have gone early in the 2nd round. We have also picked up a DE that no one seems to have heard of, or seen play, but are more than willing to heap insults upon.

All four guys are described as "high-motor", "high-character", team-first individuals, a familiar trend that all of us should have factored into our expectations.

Most of us spend time coming up with our own mock drafts, then hold it personally against the Cardinals for not using our picks. I have to say that this is the most rediculous assertation I have read on these boards....and it is an all too comon theme for many of us.

I'm excited to see what the new guys will bring to the team. Maybe they wont make it, maybe they will. Wadsworth was said to be a cant miss guy, and he missed by a longshot. Aeneas Williams was an unhearalded 3rd round prospect, and I see him with a legit shot at Canton.

This is a time to celebrate four new members to our Cardinal family. If you want to jump off the bus, fine. If you just need a breather, I understand. Today is not the end of the world that a lot of you are making it out to be.

Go Cards!!!

But I will disagree with simply because this team is always rebuilding and cannot afford the risks that were taken today. Everyone and I mean everyone has said that Pace is a reach or doesn't know much about him-I guarantee you he is a total reach and may not start. You need your first rounders to be impact players when you are a 5-11 team and rebuilding. Johnson was a good pick but could have been had at 37. The Cards could have moved up in the 2nd and gotten Bolden if needed. But Pace is a pick out of la la land and that's why fans are upset. Suggs was the guy. He had the numbers and numbers don't lie. He was homegrown and would have been loyal to the Cards(which is a rareity with 1st rounders) So yeah it may not be the end of the world but I think that your view and my view of the progress made here today is different - but we will wait and see-I know I won't be able to sleep tonight knowing that Suggs is a Raven and not a Card. Many others too will lose some winks but as we all do we will get over it and continue taking our beatings. We will keep getting laughed at and ridiculed for supporting such a team, but I have lived with it 30 years and will continue to do so.
But it would be nice for this team to win for a change!!!

How many draft in the last 10 years have the Cards graded out a "B" or better? Almost every year! I for one expect the pass rush to be alot better given the fact that last year Bryant missed all of Camp. There are hundreds of NFL players (good ones) that these so called experts miss on draft day. Hell, just look at the players the cards signed after the draft that are now staples on this team. I love both of our picks at WR. I hate to see people jump off the wagon! Have some faith in your team guys. Later

You only hurt yourself by bailing now. I agree Shane, no need to fold up the tents. Should we be critical? You bet your ass but to say you aren't a fan anymore? Well, you must not have been much of a fan to begin with.

30 plus years for me as a fan and I certainly will remain a Card fan, however, I do understand the frustration that is being shown today by many.

I also could not argue with someone who did not want to spend any more money goung to see this team. The management needs to earn some loyalty from the fans. So far, they really don't deserve any.

I'm totally tired of the Cardinals, I've been a fan since I was 6 (now I'm 25) We lost Boston and Plummer this year without any compensation (Denver even said they would have given up picks for Plummer!) We got none of the Margue players in free agency and now we failed to pick Sugs even with our horrible pass rush!!! And he was from ASU and said he would love to play for the Cardinals. Mark my words he's going to be a great DE!!!! Much better than any player we're going to get in the middle rounds! All the draft "experts" said at best there are 14-15 players really worthy of being first round picks so what do we do?!! We pick out of the top 15!!!!! I think the biggest reason we did this was to save money and because the Cardinals think they're too stupid to pick a player worthy of the sixth pick because all of their screw ups in the past years with lack of production and not signing players..

I just moved to Central California and I still bought Cardinals tickets and planned to fly up to every home game. I'm giving of my tickets now. This might be the worst off season I've ever seen for any team, especially for one that has the most cap space!!! I'm embarassed that I was ever a Cardinals fan!

:trout: :p
Then get the HELL OUT OF THE WAY and make room for the thousands that will be waiting 2 years in advance for tickets when the cards win the superbowl 4 years in a row!! MUUUUUAAAAAWWWWWWHAHHHHAHAAAHAAHHHHAHAAHHHHAAHHHAAHHAHAHAHAHHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH:biglaugh:

The Superbowl MVP doesn't count eh ? And where did I miss the trade offer from Denver?

And lets not think about how pissed we would be in Boston hade not been traded and deliberatly tanked another year.

Sorry but it sounds to me like you are applying the old 20/20 hind sight to this. It real easy to say what they should have done after the fact.

And just for the record, I don't understand out picks either

We need to support our team, and have faith in our war room guys.

It takes Big hairy been bags to select a guy that they KNOW will shock everyone and get them critisized to death...

Remember once upon a time our now fan favorite was once called VandenSUCK, before we even saw him play a down in the NFL. He isnt a world beater, but the guy is pretty solid, and who knows how good he can be with better players on the line...

Alot of people are using that same sight about alot of things right now...

Now that day one is done they think they KNOW who we could of got and at what pick... They refuse to think how each pick effects the next, one different move changes the entire rest of the draft...

As soon as training camp comes it doesnt matter what pick you got selected! If it was a reach or not, nobody ever "really" knows... Each pick is a risk, thats why Coach MAC likes good character guys with good motors...

You're right, you can't just switch teams.I've been a Card fan my whole life and as much as i'd like to switch,i can't.I did say,MAYBE,i'd be on the bus.Graves just has done one thing after another to make it hard to stay. It's like having a terminal disease, being a Cardinla fan,we are dying a slow death hanging in hoping someday for a miracle cure.I just don't think Dr. Graves is the guy to find the cure.

Answer me this:

1. Mike, what was your previous name on the old board?

2. Mike, what was your previous name on this board?

I didn't come here to be ripped on or to rip viewers/posters on this board.
Then why did you come here?

You dropped by to tell us you had stopped being a Cardinal rooter just because it was a rainy day and you were bored?

If you weren't looking for a response, why post that information at all? It's not that a whole bunch of us were waiting around eagerly anticipating that kind of announcement.

Also - you mentioned that you were a long term poster on this site. Can someone fill me in on the history of this website? I didn't realize it wasn't a fresh new site and bb at the beginning of the 2002 season.

Many of us would probably agree with you about the Cardinals and their management. And you have the right to your opinion and to quit on your team if that's you're inclination. But if you can't recognize that announcing that you're quitting the Cards won't be somehow received as an attack on the team we loyally root for (and indirectly at us), let's just say you're obviously not much of a student of human nature.
