Ahead of the 2025-26 season, the Boston Celtics brought in 19-year-old forward Hugo Gonzalez from Real Madrid. Gonzalez was selected with Boston's 2025 first-round pick, No. 28 overall. Although he started just three games in his rookie campaign, he impressed on the defensive end, at times guarding some of the strongest offensive threats in the league.
In 74 appearances, Gonzalez averaged 3.9 points, 3.3 rebounds and 0.6 steals. Additionally, Gonzalez showcased polished play, often making the right moves off the ball and crashing the glass. With these skills in mind, there's great reason to believe that Gonzalez will be a fixture in Boston's rotation for many seasons to come.
