Michigan State hockey will wrap up the regular season on Friday evening in a road game at Minnesota.
The Spartans made easy work of the Golden Gophers in the series opener on Thursday night, winning by the final score of 7-1. The Thursday night victory sealed up an outright Big Ten championship for the Spartans, marking their third straight conference regular season championship.
Michigan State comes into this regular season finale with an overall record of 25-7-1 and conference record of 16-6-1. The Spartans have locked up a first round bye in the Big Ten Tournament as the regular season champions.
Minnesota will wrap up a disappointing regular season, with the Golden Gophers sitting at 11-21-2 overall and 7-15-1 in Big Ten play. Unless Minnesota can win the Big Ten Tournament, this will be the first time since 2019 that they missed the NCAA Tournament.
