Haiti won one of their two warm up games, 4-0 against New Zealand but they were beaten 2-1 by Peru.

Scotland won both their friendlies after the end of the season, scoring four goals in each. They won 4-1 against Curacao and 4-0 against Bolivia

Steve Clarke was full of excitement as he looked ahead to Scotland’s first match of the World Cup.

“We have another chance and that’s credit to the players that they keep qualifying for these major tournaments,” he said.”

“We want to do something special.”

He added: “Anyone you speak to they’ll tell you the team has brought them out here. And I’m the same.”
