The Kansas City Chiefs are set to take on the Houston Texans at Arrowhead Stadium this evening in a highly anticipated showdown on 'Sunday Night Football.'
At this point in the season, the Chiefs are playing for a chance to earn a Wild Card spot in the AFC. With no margin for error, Kansas City is in must-win territory for the next four weeks.
Houston will have a chance to take down the reigning AFC champions on the road and knock the Chiefs out of playoff contention.
Here's how to watch Kansas City's 'Sunday Night Football' matchup against the Texans, including time, TV schedule, and streaming information:
TV channel: KSHB 41 (NBC) Start time: 7:20 p.m. CT Announcers: Mike Tirico (play-by-play), Chris Collinsworth (analyst) Sideline reporter: Melissa Stark
Kansas City's Week 14 matchup against Houston can be streamed via Peacock and NFL+.
Chiefs 19, Texans 23: Sunday's matchup is likely a legacy game for quarterback Patrick Mahomes and Kansas City. A loss to the Texans will almost certainly mark the end of a frustrating season for the Chiefs.
The reigning AFC champions have been entirely too reliant this year on Mahomes' ability to be superhuman in dire situations, and it shows. Head coach Andy Reid has virtually abandoned the run game outside of the occasional scramble from the two-time MVP. Reid will need to get running backs Kareem Hunt and Isiah Pacheco more involved on Sunday if Kansas City wants to leave Arrowhead with a win and a chance at the playoffs.
The Chiefs' defense looked unrecognizable in last week's loss to the Cowboys. Defensive linemen Chris Jones and George Karlaftis were almost entirely absent, and the secondary committed five pass interference penalties in the second half alone. Kansas City's pass rush will need to step up and make its presence known against a young quarterback on Sunday or risk facing a long and frustrating offseason.
