After a strong regular season, the Abilene Christian Wildcats (25-29) are set to hit the road to compete in the 2026 Western Athletic Conference Baseball Tournament this week with an NCAA Tournament berth up for grabs.
The 2026 WAC Baseball Tournament will be hosted at Hohokam Stadium in Mesa, Arizona, beginning Wednesday, May 20, and ending with the WAC baseball conference championship game on Saturday, May 23.
The Wildcats have earned the conference’s No. 5 overall seed heading into the WAC Baseball Tournament.
ACU is set to open up WAC Baseball Tournament action in the first round at 5 p.m. CST on Wednesday, May 20, against No. 3 Sacramento State (26-30) during the opening round of the conference tournament.
The winner will advance to face No. 1 Tarleton State (34-19) at 5 p.m. on Thursday, May 21; the losing team will face the loser of No. 3 Utah Tech (33-22) and No. 6 UT-Arlington (19-30) in an elimination game at 9 p.m. on Wednesday, May 20.
The Wildcats could play as many as seven and as few as two games based upon the double-elimination structure of the WAC Baseball Tournament bracket.
Abilene Christian will be looking to end a strong season on a high note after scoring significant non-conference wins against Creighton, Indiana, McNeese State, New Mexico, Stephen F. Austin, Rice and TCU.
The Wildcats went 8-10 in WAC play throughout the regular season, winning conference series against UT-Arlington, Sacramento State and Utah Valley.
Abilene Christian will be looking to reach the WAC Baseball Tournament championship game for the first time since 2022, when the Wildcats were eliminated by New Mexico State.
