Over 30,000 participants are set to run in the 130th Boston Marathon.
You probably already knew that though. What you may not know is how far along an individual runner is in New England's most famous race.
If you want to track the progress of a marathon runner today, there are a couple of ways to do that, but the Boston Athletic Association recommends their app.
From Hopkinton to Copley Square, how you can track a runner's progress during the Boston Marathon.
The BAA Racing App is available in both the Apple and Android store.
"The app features live tracking for all B.A.A. events, interactive course maps, athlete leaderboards, fundraising totals, social media integrations, info pages and more," the association said.
To use the app, all you need is the runner's name or their bib number and they should come up when you enter that info onto the search bar. You can also search by city or team.
If apps aren't your thing, there is another way.
The Boston Athletic Association's website has live tracking for runners.
If you have a runner's bib number or name you can follow their race and see the results at the finish line.
Just click the tracking tab on the webpage and search for the runner you want to track by "last name, first name" or by their bib number, and you should be able to select them to see how they're doing. You can also select multiple runners.
If you prefer to go old school, you could watch marathon live on television or stream it, though that might make it harder to follow an individual.
