Good evening everyone. The mind that is currently inside my head has been churning away at what to write about this evening. I don't think that the Titans are up to the task of standing up to the Cardinal defense, and coaching. However, I want to talk offense.
I'd like to ask the question, how are the Cardinals going to beat the Titans offensively this weekend? Well lucky for you, the heavens opened up tonight, and I saw the sign on the drive home. The dog and I were listening to the radio, NPR was blazing away, and the song 'That Smell' by Lynyrd Skynyrd started to play (true story). As I laughed at the specific thoughts RUNNING through my head, I had to calm down, mostly because I was driving, but also because, IT HIT ME.
Here is my revelation:
I think the Cardinals should run the ball. It's a great plan there eh?
The Titans' defense is 20th in rushing, and allows 117 ypg. Here is the plan: 1st down, 2nd down, 3rd down, and sometimes 4th down – Cardinals should run. Okay not so much, but more than usual.
I am not so certain that this isn't going to be much of a game. I believe that the Titans want the next three hours on the field to be done smoothly and quickly, and are going to go through the motion of being a professional football team (we've seen that happen before). Munchak has said that his goal is 3-0 the next three games. I understand why he is saying it, but has he lost the team? One can hope. Besides, a dying team is not going to want to stand up to constant run blocks and hit Mendy or try to chase down The Juke. These players are one to two big drives away from folding like a Cardinals team in 2012. However, you drop back to pass 300 times this game, and Carson is looking like Derek Anderson again, it could give some people on the other side something to care about. A successful running game demoralizes defenses.
Usually isn't it pass to setup the run with BA? I think I would do the opposite this game. Run to set up the pass. If the line can give four yards a carry to the running backs (big if) and if the running backs can give protection of the ball to the team (big if), it is a win/win situation (big win). Offensively, that is how I would beat the Titans. Special thanks to Lynyrd Skynyrd for the inspiration. Thanks for reading.

Here are the first ten offensive plays that I would run.
1 – With all this talk about running, I forget if this is a run play or a pass play, but every time it has been used, its gotten at least eight yards: I think the setup is shotgun strong side right, with The Juke lined up left of Palmer. Ball is snapped and the first thing that I notice is Sowell pushing his man straight into the back field and then releases. I can't recall if it is a screen or a draw, but Sowell is out there all alone looking for someone to punish on the second level with The Juke in tow.
2 – Right side sweep – it has been ran a few times with nice results. I guess I just love it when I see two of our linemen get around the edge looking for someone to hit.
3 – Off right tackle with Mendy
4 – Run off the left guard. With zone blocking I don't know if the running back has the option of choosing the best gap/hole or if its a preset gap. The 80 yard run for Ellington against the Falcons was supposed to be between the center and left guard. He juked twice – once to the inside, where everyone on the defensive side started to head towards, and once to the out, and he was gone.
5 – Wide receiver screen. Not to Fitzy, not to PP but to Ellington, The Juke is our CJ, give him the ball in space, and see what he can do with it.
6 – Play action, over the middle to Housler.
7 – Off right tackle,Colledge pulling to the right side for help.
8 – Plow up the A gap with Mendy
9 – Left Guard trap/sweep – Strong side Left, Sowell down blocking on the DE, Dray or Ballard blocking the LB, and Colledge pulling to the left to kickout the OLB.
10 – Big number ten, FLEA FLICKER baby, down the sidelines to number eleven.
