Carolina blew a 3-1 lead in the second period in Game 4 on Tuesday night, the fourth straight game in which a team has surrendered such an advantage, before claiming a 5-3 victory. Captain Jordan Staal scored his second goal of the game as he was falling to the ice to give the Hurricanes a 4-3 edge at 6:32 of the third period.

Staal lit the lamp on the power play at 12:48 of the first period, giving the ‘Canes a 3-1 edge, and becoming the first player since Mike Bossy of the New York Islanders in 1982 to score in each of the first four games of a Stanley Cup Final. Logan Stankoven and Jackson Blake spotted Carolina a 2-0 lead 3:28 into the game, and Nikolaj Ehlers sealed the deal with an empty-net goal in the final minute.
The Golden Knights got on the board on Mark Stone’s goal at 7:22 of the first and tied the game in the second on tallies from William Karlsson and Brett Howden. Vegas has outscored the Hurricanes 9-1 in the second period in the series. Howden leads all players in the postseason with 14 goals.
A matchup widely anticipated to be a defensive struggle wound up as anything but. The 33 combined goals through the first four games tied the series with the Islanders-Philadelphia 1980 Final as the third-highest scoring Cup Final ever. Game 6 returns to Las Vegas on Sunday, with Game 7 set for Raleigh on Wednesday, if necessary.
This is a great NHL matchup that you will not want to miss; make sure to tune in and catch all the action.
