The Los Angeles Dodgers (69-43) and the Chicago Cubs (63-49) take the field on Monday night at Wrigley Field in the first game of a three-game series.

While the Dodgers may have been swept by the Red Sox at home over the weekend, they are looking for their seventh consecutive road victory. The team currently holds a 10-game lead in the National League West. Meanwhile, the Cubs have alternated wins and losses over the last six games and come into Monday off a home series loss to the Yankees.
The Cubs will start left-hander Matthew Boyd (6-1, 3.41 ERA), who has allowed a combined two earned runs over his last three outings. The Dodgers will counter with Chicago-area native Justin Wrobleski (11-2, 2.88 ERA). He has not lost a start since mid-May, but comes into this game having given up a season-high four home runs in his last outing.
Cubs center fielder Pete Crow-Armstrong is closing in on his second consecutive 30/30 campaign. In 2025, Crow-Armstrong became just the second Cubs player to hit 30 home runs and steal 30 bases in the same season. He now needs six home runs and four steals to become just the ninth player in MLB history to achieve that feat in back-to-back seasons.
