How Tim Hardaway Jr. follows in his dad's footsteps by free agent signing with Miami Heat originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
Tim Hardaway has played for the Miami Heat before.
Not Tim Hardaway Jr., mind you, but his father, Tim Hardaway Sr. -- and now 'Junior' is joining the party.
On Tuesday night, Hardaway Jr. signed with the Heat in free agency, according to ESPN's Shams Charania:

It's a fun full-circle moment for the Hardaway family, to be sure.

Tim Hardaway Sr. with the Heat
The original Tim Hardaway spent six seasons with the Heat, starting all 367 games he played there.
He averaged 17.3 points and 7.8 assists per game with Miami, a brilliantly effective player there.
Hardaway had also been a star for the Golden State Warriors, and now he's in the Hall of Fame.
Is Tim Hardaway Jr. good?
The younger Hardaway is 34 years old now, in the twilight of his career.
He's coming off a season averaging 13.5 points per game for the Nuggets.
Most importantly, he shot 40.7% from 3-point range.
That'll be his role in Miami -- space the floor for Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bam Adebayo.
His dad will likely enjoy seeing his son in that uniform, too.
