Not counting FA Cup matches against lower-league opposition, Chelsea are currently on a run of one win in nine, including five straight defeats, four of them by three-goal margins. The last three of those were all matching 3-0 defeats, extending our goalless streak to over 300 minutes against teams not named Port Vale. In short, it’s been horrendous.

And it’s not really getting any easier, though Manchester United are far from unbeatable. In fact, they only have one win in their last four, and managed to lose to Leeds United at home, 2-1 last time out. They are still well on track for a Champions League spot next season though, which is certainly not something we can say with any confidence.

But a strong finish to the season could still get us there.

Our injury situation hasn’t improved, but we do get Enzo Fernández back from his club-imposed exile. He’s said to be raring to go.

Choose wisely.
