LeBron James will share the court with one of the youngest players in the NBA right now.
The 2026-27 NBA season will mark LeBron James’ Year 24 in the league as he’s all set to don the Philadelphia 76ers’ jersey for the first time in his career.
James will share the court with established stars like Jaylen Brown, Joel Embiid, and Tyrese Maxey. At the same time, the King will also have VJ Edgecombe as his teammate, who is currently one of the youngest players in the league.
This may lead to many wondering how old Edgecombe was when James entered the NBA as a rookie.

VJ Edgecombe wasn’t even born when LeBron James entered the NBA
James headlined the star-studded 2003 NBA Draft, where the Cleveland Cavaliers drafted him using the No. 1 overall pick.
Considering the 2003 NBA Draft was held on June 26, 2003, and Edgecombe was born on July 30, 2005, meaning the 76ers star was born two years after the NBA commissioner called the King’s name.
In 2003, James also made his NBA debut, but coming back to the Edgecombe comparison, it’s certainly an insane longevity feat of the 41-year-old.
As for the new season, Edgecombe is obviously excited to share the court with James and can barely believe that LBJ is now a member of the 76ers.
