Napoleon Solo controlled the Preakness Stakes from start to finish.

And hey, that's how it works when your horse is related to Secretariat. Well, most thoroughbreds are these days. That's true with Napoleon Solo, too.

He went just under two minutes to win as the Preakness was raced at Laurel while Pimlico undergoes massive renovations.

In the end, a Preakness win is a Preakness win.

There were questions about Napoleon Solo's distance racing ability, but he got it done.

How is Napoleon Solo related to Secretariat?

He traces to the famous 2-s family line that led to Secretariat, according to the official Kentucky Derby website.

Napoleon Solo is a direct matrilineal descendant of Cinq a Sept.

He's got great direct blood, too. His sire, Liam's Map, stood out in the 2015 Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile.

His maternal grandfather, Scat Daddy, was a winning horse, as well.

He doesn't have as much Secretariat in his bloodline as some horses, but he's got a bit, and in this case, that was more than enough.
