so what have we got now? 14 wide recievers in camp that seems like a heck of a lot
how many do you think we can or should carry on our roster when the regular season starts?

I'd hate to be the guy responsable for the cuts..

Didn't we carry 6, maybe 7 WR's last year.

We will probably carry the same amount this year.

I think we carry:
1)Mcaddley
2)Johnson
3)Boldin
4)Gilmore
5)Walker
6)Foster

Everyone else gets cut. They might have three kickers so we might have to drop that down to five and 2 on the PS.

I think that looks right, but I'm hoping Kasper makes the roster instead of Foster...but that's probably not going to happen.

I think the Reggie Newhouse will end up on the practice squad. I'm not sure how the system works, but I think that you can "release" some number (5?) of first-year players to the practice squad as "developmental" players.

Also, don't be surprised if a WR or 2 suffers some "mysterious" condition toward the end of training camp and has to be placed on IR for the season...

3 kickers? I sincerely doubt it. I don't think that this team is stocked enough with established talent to carry 2 kickers and a punter on the active roster (unlike the 2000 Giants, who had a KO specialist).

We kept six last year, and that was a bit of a surprise. But, we might do that again depending on who is stepping up for special teams. I think:

1. McAddley
2. Gilmore
3. Johnson
4. Boldin

Are about as close to 100% as they can get to make the team. Beyond that, it's dogfight. It certainly looks like Foster will have an edge in that Sully wanted him. And, don't forget, he'll be a gunner on punt coverage, a spot we really sucked at last year. The guys in a tough spot are Kasper and Walker. Walker especially, because I don't think he has special teams skills.

I was in Flag on Monday, and it looked like the competition for the last spot might be between Kasper and Walker. I couldn't keep count how many times Sullivan was praising Foster. I really like Kasper, but when you look at the size of Walker you can't imagine not taking him. I know there won't be alot of experience at receiver this year, but the talent level is amazing. And we all know what Sullivan can do with a little talent.

Like he said. (Though if Walker doesn't live up to billings, Foster might still make the cut in his place).

The keepers: MacAddley
Boldin
Johnson
Gilmore
Foster
Kasper

I like Kasper a lot. It seems that the reviews that I've been seeing of Walker have been pretty mixed. I just feel that Kasper can be more productive, a good possession-type guy.

From what i heard they want to keep either Billy G. or duncan for FG's,Player for punts, and the new UDFA kid for kickoff's. I forget his name but he has been blasting the ball. We have no kickoff guy, duncan and billy both suck at them. Field postition killed us last year off kickoffs.

JimO posted the other day that Billy G. told him he was booming kicks into the endzone. But, if he's not doing it in Flag, he won't do it anywhere. It's just so hard for me to see us keeping three kickers.

This is part of an column by jurecki on azcardinals.com

Can I buy a vowel…?
Undrafted free agent Punter Brian Simnjanovski, 6'4 187 from San Diego State, could be the sleeper when it comes to kick-offs. Can the Cardinals afford to keep a player just for kick-offs? Can you say field position? Veteran Scott player is this teams best punter and isn't going anywhere. In the past, kcikers Bill Gramatica and Tim Duncan have struggled in this area.

I think it is quite possible that they keep 3 kickers.
