As the head coaching openings around the NFL continue to fill, the Indianapolis Colts received some good news.

The latest is that the Buffalo Bills have hired Joe Brady as their next head coach.

So what does this have to do with the Colts?

Well, defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo interviewed for that opening. Anarumo also interviewed with the New York Giants and the Tennessee Titans -- vacancies that have also been filled.

This means that Anarumo will continue to coach the Indianapolis defense in 2026.

For one, that continuity from Year 1 to Year 2 is important and can provide a jumping-off point for players, given their comfort in the defensive scheme.

The Colts' overall defensive numbers from 2025 won't jump off the stat sheet, although injuries were a part of that equation.

Indianapolis finished the 2025 season ranked 20th in points per game allowed and 17th in yards per play.

Anarumo's ever-evolving defensive scheme can be difficult to game plan for, and putting players in the best position possible to maximize their skill sets.

From the sounds of it, this offseason, addressing the defense will be a big priority for Chris Ballard.
