How big of a contract would you offer Fitz?

Personally, after watching him in the last game, driving home, I was willing to offer him a 10 year, $80 million contract. I was wondering if it'd be possible to make him the first $100 million wideout. He's incredible right now, and he's only going to be 25 at the beginning of next season.

I think the Cards should make Larry Fitzgerald the highest-paid WR in the NFL this offseason. It'd be well-deserved.

I think he should be in the top 5 money. I dont know about the unanimous #1. Because in 1 or 2 years you are going to have to give Q the same money.

I would love to see a deal made with a 7-10 year term. I just can't imagine Fitz playing for anyone else, and it would be nice to ensure that he will be in Cardinal Red for the rest of his Career. I feel the same about Boldin, I just hope we can find a way to keep both for their entire careers.

I'd make him the highest paid WR ever I think 7 years in the longest contract you can offer in the NFL so an escalator contract with a total value of 100 mil would be fine by me...but then what will Q want?

He deserves to be he highest paid in the league IMO. I hope we lock him down for forever, since I got his jersey for Christmas.

I don't think that Boldin can get the same money as Fitz can demand. Fitz is a better WR, and will stay healthier over the next 5 seasons. Q is maybe more valuable to the franchise in terms of leadership, but productivity wise, we probably are going to see him break down more and more, while Fitz will continue to get better.

Anquan remains a running back playing WR, IMO. Even his teammates say so. There's nothing wrong with that, but it's going to limit his longevity in the league.

Good stuff. I agree completely. However, Boldin's agent won't.

Well, good luck to Drew Rosenhaus, then. If Boldin thinks that he can get 90% of what he can get here on the open market after 2009, more power to him. Wideouts just don't have that much free agency value. We'll find out when Randy Moss becomes a free agent, but WRs are far more valueable to the team they're on than the team that they're going to (take Darrell Jackson, for instance).

If Fitz can stay healthy next year, there's little doubt in my mind that he'll put up another 1200 yard season. If Anquan stays healthy next year (which I kind of doubt), then he'll have an 850 yard season and a 1200 yard season. Rosenhaus can chew on that.

Fitz is just coming into his prime. I believe that he will be the premier reciever in the league over the next 5-7 years. The guy is just incredible! Pay him accordingly!

Note: taking nothing away from the phenom that is "Q"!

You can do longer then 7 years. Clements signed an 8 year deal.

As for what I would offer Fitz I dont the Cards will like that answer or the answer they will get from his agent.

As for Boldin. Dude can be upset all he wants to be. He is the one that signed a deal through the 2010 season after we ripped up his rookie deal and gave him 10 Million upfront, which in 2005 10 Mill up front for a WR was not even close to the norm. He can wait until 2009.

8 Years, 15 Mill signing bonus, 2.5 Mill roster bonus in 2009, 2.5 Mill roster bonus in 2010 for a total of 20 Mill gauranteed. Base Salaries in total of 40 Mill.

Total contract value 8 years - 60 Mill.

As much as it takes to keep him in Cardinal red. Still love Q more, but talent like Fitz's doesn't come around all that often, and when it does its usually in the form of a loud mouthed media *****. Pay him, and pay him well.

Wasn't his Rookie contract 6 years 60 million with incentives ?? With Fitz slated for 17 million next year the cards are in a bind. I would do the 8 year 80-90 Million with 30+ million coming in the last 2 years so the first 6 years would be around 8-9 million in cap hits.

Why would he want to do that, when he is getting 17 this next year alone? I think he will need 20M+.

Then again, I thoroughly admit that I have minimal NFL cap skills.

But he'd get $20 million in the first year of the contract, right? $15 million signing bonus, and then about $5 million in salary. At least, that's how I read it.

Key word is incentive laided deal. Those are not sure fire contracts. Non-incentive laided deals are worthy 10 times more to veterans. Also Rookie deals are inflated anyways becuase they are incentive laided. Remember when we were trying to sign Rolle and his mother was talking about it. Players know they will not see that last 2 years of their rookie deals in the top 10. They make the contracts like that so they can get another gauranteed bonus as soon as possible.

What Fitz will make this year and next has no baring what so ever in this contract.
