Golden State Valkyries veteran guard Tiffany Hayes seemingly called out Indiana Fever superstar guard Caitlin Clark after her team's road loss on Friday night.

After Clark and Hayes engaged in a chippy contest with some NSFW trash-talking between the two, Hayes not-so-subtly alluded to Clark before the postgame presser and what she sees is favorable officiating for who we assume is Clark from the refs.

The moment catches Hayes saying that the refs aren't calling fouls on presumably Clark, and if they did, she's never get to play in WNBA games. We're not sure exactly if she meant for the folks at home to hear that or not, but her comments on who we presume is Clark are pretty pointed nevertheless. She doesn't say Clark's name explicitly, but it's not hard to suss through who the "she" is in this context.

To be fair, Clark got called for five fouls, a technical and a Flagrant 1 foul during Friday's Fever win. While Clark is certainly an aggressive player, opponents have been playing her similarly since she got to the WNBA. The league has installed more officiating for "freedom of movement" to help offensive players in part for how tightly players like Clark gets guarded and impeded in the path of play.

Clark gets her fair share of calls that go for her and against her. This is probably the first season where she's had a bit of a favorable whistle, but it's not overly egregious. Friday night's game is proof enough that Clark will get calls that go against her if the refs see fit. She almost fouled out of a single-digit victory in crunch time.

Hayes is certainly entitled to her opinion if Clark is truly who she's talking about here, but we're not sure this is the best critique of Clark's play style if so.
