A week after Hope lost is MIAA regular-season title chance with a loss to Calvin, the Flying Dutchmen earned some revenge and ended Calvin's season.
Hope defeated the Knights 76-60 in the MIAA semifinals on Friday, Feb. 27, at Olivet University.
The Flying Dutchmen improved to 17-9 and advanced to Saturday's MIAA finals against the Olivet-Trine winner.
The teams traded small leads until Carter Bishop hit a 3-pointer to put Hope up 53-44 with 8 minutes remaining.

Calvin trimmed the lead to 54-50 before Bishop and Parker Hovey made layups on back-to-back possessions to push th lead back to 58-50.
Hope sealed the win by making free throws down the stretch, going 10-for-13 in the final 2:22.
Orion Yant led Hope with 18 points and seven rebounds. Marcus Wourman had 14 and Brendan Cargill had 13.
Jalen Overway (Holland Christian) led Calvin (19-8) with 15 points and 14 rebounds. Parker Swartz had 13 and Trevin Winkle had 12.
Overway (Holland Christian) was selected as the MIAA Most Valuable Player for the third time, adding to previous honors earned in 2023 and 2024. A three-time First Team All-MIAA selection, Overway entered the year as a D3hoops.com Preseason All-America First Team pick and was recently named to the Bevo Francis Award Top 50 Watch List, which recognizes the top player across NCAA Division II, Division III, and NAIA men’s basketball.
Olivet's Nathan Richardson was named Defensive Player of the Year.
Hope's Parker Hovey was named to the All-MIAA first team, along with Olivet's Conner Schipper (Zeeland East), Trine's Jayden Bradshaw and Albion's Michael Umeh. Cargill was named to the second team.
The Hope College women's basketball team defeated Albion 73-58 in the MIAA semifinals to advance to Saturday's final.
Hope improved to 23-3 and will face the Trine-Calvin winner.
The Flying Dutch outscored the Britons 20-9 in the first quarter and rolled from there.
Sydney Vis led Hope with 18 points, while Anna Richards had 16, Leah Richards scored 15, to go with 11 rebounds, and Maddie Petroelje added 10 points.
Meghan Trewhella had 16 points to lead the Britons (19-8).
Petroelje and Leah Richards earned All-MIAA first team honors and Anna Richards was named to the second team.
Albion's Meghan Trewhella was named MIAA MVP and her teammate Ava Guilford was named Defensive Player of the Year.
The rest of the first team is Calvin's Anna Fernandez and Trine's Annika Southworth and Madison Wagner.
