SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — Judging by their reactions after Friday ‘s match against Greenwood, you would have thought that the Lake View High School girls soccer team had just won a state championship.
And who could blame them?
After a 3-3 tie in regulation, the District 2-4A match went to a penalty-kick shootout, and Lake View won the shootout 3-2.
Soriah Morrison, Avery Hansen and Cecilia Soria scored in the shootout for the Maidens.
Alexys Tryels was in goal for Lake View.
Lake View improved to 7-6-3 overall and 7-4-2 in district. Greenwood dropped to 10-3-5 and 10-1-2.
The Maidens will travel to Andrews on Tuesday. Their next home match is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 27 against Big Spring.
