SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — The Lake View High School boys soccer team pushed its winning streak to 18 matches with a 7-0 District 2-4A shutout against Lubbock Estacado Wednesday night at San Angelo Stadium.
Lake View improved to 18-2 overall and 17-0 in district heading into Friday’s regular-season finale at home against Frenship Memorial. That match starts at 5:30 p.m., and it will be extra special for the Chiefs as they will have a trophy celebration for winning a fifth-straight district crown.
The Chiefs built a 6-0 lead at the half, and they closed out the scoring on a goal by freshman Kevin Cardenas late in the second half.
Gio Mendoza had a hat trick and one assist.
Jeremy Zavala notched a pair of goals and one assist.
Uli Chavez recorded one goal and two assists, and Santiago Martinez and Izaiah Rios had an assist apiece.
Sebastian Heredia, Zane Martinez and Matthew Herrera were all credited in goal with the shutout victory.
