Texas A&M's fifth spring practice was another balanced dose of offense and defense, running through various drills focused on fundamentals, while starting quarterback Marcel Reed continues to look improved in footwork and accuracy, and his decision-making will be on full display during the Maroon & White spring game.

Over the first four practices, Texas A&M's deep wide receiver rotation, now including former blue-chip prospect and freshman wideout Aaron Gregory, has shown out, and should result in Marcel Reed further improving in the pocket, especially after junior WR Ashton Bethel-Roman was injured earlier this week, but did walk off on his own power.

Unsurprisingly, junior wide receiver Mario Craver, who is considered one of the top playmakers in the SEC entering the 2026 season, looks even quicker and faster, and made several plays during Saturday's practice, already developing a steady connection with Marcel Reed after reeling in 29 receptions for 917 yards and four touchdowns last season.

Among the 17 transfer portal additions, former Tulsa linebacker Ray Coney is expected to make an immediate impact after recording over 100 tackles last season, while his 6'2" frame and consistency as a run defender provide a boost to a room that will not include Taurean York, who declared for the 2026 NFL Draft.
