While Wisconsin fans would like to move on from the team's first-round upset loss to High Point on Thursday, a recent viral video has been hard to ignore.
That video is of High Point's student broadcasters calling the thrilling end to the contest. Overlayed with the television broadcast of the game, the video has more than 1.7 million views on the students' X account.
The final minute action was one to remember for the High Point Panthers, and one to forget for the Badgers. Wisconsin led 82-78 entering the final minute, before High Point's Chase Johnston, the star of the game, drilled a 3-pointer to cut his team's deficit to one.
After each team traded empty possessions, Wisconsin star guard Nick Boyd came up short on a layup attempt with 16 seconds left. High Point's Rob Martin grabbed the defensive rebound, looked up, and found a streaking Johnston on Wisconsin's side of the court. The sharpshooter would convert the layup, his first two-point field goal of the season, giving the Panthers a one-point lead.
Wisconsin's empty final possession put a cap on High Point's major comeback, as a High Point defender blocked Boyd's layup attempt. The buzzer later sounded, with High Point finishing ahead, 83-82.
The High Point students captured the tone of the Panthers' fanbase, and then some.
High Point will now face No. 4-seed Arkansas in the round of 32. Wisconsin, meanwhile, travels home to begin its offseason.
