Southern California teammates Madison Whyte and Brianna Selby helped the Trojans finish third at the Big Ten outdoor track and field championships in Nebraska over the weekend.
Whyte, a Heritage High graduate, won the 200 meters (21.78 seconds) and 400 (51.01). She also ran on the victorious 4×100 and 4×400 relays.
Selby, an Indian River grad, won the 100 meters in a wind-aided time of 10.74 seconds. Her time is the No. 2 all-conditions time in NCAA history. She teamed with Whyte on the 4×100 relay, which set a meet record of 42.85 and is No. 10 on the USC all-time list.
Selby has the fastest NCAA time in the nation this season. Whyte is ranked fourth in the 400 and seventh in the 200.
Ohio State senior Aniya Mosley placed third in the 1,500 at the Big Ten championships. The former Ocean Lakes High star ran 4:18.11. After this season, she will attend Virginia Tech and run as a graduate transfer.
Former King’s Fork star Taylor Jennings-Ward had a big day at the Southern Conference outdoor championships to help Wofford finish third.
Jennings-Ward, a sophomore, ran 53.02 in the 400 meters to set a meet record. She also placed fourth in the 200. And she helped the Terriers win the 4×100 and 4×400 relays, including a meet record of 3:37.83 in the latter.
