Now that the season is over, I'll dig into my own plate of crow. I was VERY concerned about signing Kurt to a larger contract, coming off his season last year and having HIP surgery for goodness sake. Early in the year and the preseason, he seemed to be a bit off, as if he was feeling awkward on that hip.
I didn't think there was any way he'd duplicate last season's success.
I was wrong...he was nails this year and had some amazing games. And a LOT fewer "bad Kurt" outings. I didn't think he'd get hurt badly this year, but I sure did think he was going to regress and a lot (see Gannon, Rich). Kurt put in a fine season, and some very fine games, culminating in one of the most brilliant QB played games I've ever seen in that GB slugfest.
My hat's off to Kurt, what a special player. Whether he retires or comes back, I'm glad we've had the time we have with the guy to watch him play football at the highest level.
