The Las Vegas Raiders will interview Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak over the weekend before making a head coach decision, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.
One source told Fowler that “it’s probably (Kubiak’s) job to lose.”
Denver Broncos offensive pass game coordinator and quarterbacks coach Davis Webb is also a candidate for the Las Vegas job, and it appears that it might be down to Kubiak and Webb. If the Raiders end up hiring Kubiak, Webb will have plenty of offensive coordinator offers.
The Baltimore Ravens, Philadelphia Eagles and New York Giants all requested OC interviews with Webb, and he will presumably be a candidate for Denver's own OC opening after the team fired Joe Lombardi.
In addition to Las Vegas, the Arizona Cardinals are also yet to hire a head coach, and Broncos defensive coordinator Vance Joseph is a candidate (but perhaps not the favorite) for that position. Arizona also plans to interview Kubiak this weekend, and he seems to be the top candidate for both openings. If Kubiak ends up with the Raiders, it's possible that Joseph could still be in play for the Cardinals.
Meanwhile, Denver assistant head coach and defensive pass game coordinator Jim Leonhard interviewed for the Los Angeles Chargers' defensive coordinator role before L.A. hired Chris O'Leary. Leonhard is believed to be a top candidate for the Buffalo Bills' DC opening, and the Baltimore Ravens have requested a DC interview with him.
If Joseph does land the HC job in Arizona, Leonhard would presumably be a top in-house candidate to replace him with the Broncos. As it stands now, though, Joseph does not appear to be the clear favorite for the Cards' job, and Leonhard will have no shortage of suitors with DC openings.
