The Broncos are all-in on the Sean Payton era.

The Denver Broncos coach signed a new five-year contract, the team announced June 11.

Payton had two years remaining on his prior contract, but this new deal replaces that. Financial details of Payton's new deal were not disclosed.

The 62-year-old Payton led the Broncos to a 14-3 regular season in 2025 in his third season leading Denver. The Broncos made the AFC Championship, but lost there while playing without quarterback Bo Nix who was injured in the previous playoff game.

Denver is 32-19 in Payton's three seasons in charge.

The Broncos agreed to a five-year extension with general manager George Paton last month.

Payton, who was named the NFL's Coach of the Year in 2006, guided the Saints to their only Super Bowl championship after the 2009 season.

"Sean Payton has led an impressive turnaround over the past three seasons, instilling a winning culture with high expectations," Broncos owner and CEO Greg Penner said in a news release. "I appreciate the close partnership he shares with George Paton along with the alignment and stability across our football operations.
