I have been lurking this site (and the ones before this one) for quite a while. However, I have never had the courage to post. You all are much more knowledgeable about football.

I have been a fan of the team since moving to Arizona in 1993. Every year I am hopeful and every year I am disappointed. I even had season tics for a few years. But I never give up hope. I decided now would be a good time to "come out". Given the Cards current state, can't be accused of being a bandwaggoner.

Anyway... on to football.

I was surprised to read in this morings Rep that RG is making game decisions. He has apparently over ruled Mac about who will play QB. (more of McCown and Parsons)

This seems like a positive step. And it gives the appearance that the organization cares about the future. Anyone else with the same impression?

I've rambled enough. I promise this to be my longest post.

It's a stop-gap measure. Mac is a "lame-duck" coach. Playing Blake gives him the best chance to win this season, but winning this season doesn't help the Cardinals as much as evaluation of talent at this point. Winning this season can only help Mac.

I'm not saying that Mac is trying to pad his resume, but rather he isn't looking at the situation and making a rational big-picture decision--decisions that the team will be better off with after Mac is gone.

Graves: "Hey Mac, it's 4th and 30. You can either throw a 30 yard pass that's likely to get intercepted, or you can throw the safe screen and get better field position for your defense that has to go out there and live with your decision."
Mac: "Let's throw the ball away."
Graves: "Wrong answer." (to the team) "Boys, throw the screen."

Welcome Brevity.

Don't be stranger. If you have something to say, share it.

Do you go to the games?

The best way for Mac to "pad" his reume is to do what is besy for the team right now.

Nothing is going to change the record significantly

Everyone, thanks for the welcome and opinions.

Skkorp, I managed a few games this year. Recieved a lot of pressure from the Cards (phone calls and such) to renew at the beginning of the season but I opted not to.

Mac does not seem like the type of person to try and pad his resume. I wouldn't know, but it just seems like it is not part of his character. He strikes me as a guy that, even though he is trouble, would still be willing to tow the line.

mac ...he is almost better off throwing out the young guys and sitting blake, etc....at least then he will have an excuse as to why he will lost the next few games...it almost reflects worse on him if we get blown out with the veterans...
