The last month has featured a lot of time in and out with doctors, packing up and moving to Bloomington Indiana, and starting a doctoral program famous for its massive workload.

I have been following all the preseason developments out of the corner of my eye but for the first time in my life I've just been too busy to give the cardinals much vigorous attention. I hope to be able to start writing and posting frequently again when the regular season begins.

The downside of going for a PhD is that I am going to have a lot less free time (not to mention money!) to do things like fart around on the board. But on the plus side, in a couple years I'll get to tell girls I'm a "doctor". Albeit one making about $20,000 a year ;)

I am, for the first time, feeling absolutely great, and I'd like to thank everyone who sent and expressed well-wishes during my hiatus.

Camp was a blast and next Saturday my dad and I embark for Detroit for the opener. I can't wait.

Good Luck

It took me 5 years Ed to get my Ph.D. so I know the road you're on.

My problem was that the 2 years of courses were a breeze....it's the thesis that can hang you up.

After my son was killed in a car accident on the 3rd year of the program I just put the thesis down and said I can't do this....but then I thought what my son would want me to do and I finished 2 years later.

I hope you resolve your physical issues.....cause I tell you man the Ph.D. road is tough.

Congratulations, Ed. Best wishes to you in all aspects of your life. May the Cardinals bring you and all of us added joy in the months ahead!

Buckeye: It takes a special strength to carry on in the face of such a devastating loss. May your son's spirit continue to live in you and all his loved ones. God bless all of you.

Whatever Happened To......
Walter Mitchell, Harry Greene and Ed B.? I know Ed has been ill and I pray that he's doing okay. But I miss the posts of all three.

Here's your answer Garth.
