Heat's Giannis Antetokounmpo has heartfelt 'wife' mistake moment with Bam Adebayo, A'ja Wilson originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
Giannis Antetokounmpo is the newest member of the Miami Heat after the blockbuster trade brought him to town from the Milwaukee Bucks.
Now, he's trying to learn his new teammates, including fellow star Bam Adebayo.
Their initial interaction, captured on video, showed a funny moment with an innocent mistake by Giannis.
The Greek superstar invited Bam to come spend time with him in Greece this summer.
Adebayo suggested that he wants to but that he's not "by myself" anymore.

Antetokounmpo knows immediately that Adebayo is talking about his significant other, WNBA superstar A'ja Wilson. Giannis says she can come, too.
In the moment, though, Antetokounmpo refers to A'ja as Bam's wife. They aren't married at this point, and it gets a giggle out of Bam.
Giannis laughs about it, too:
Giannis told Bam to bring A’ja Wilson with him to Greece to workout with him:
Giannis: “Come to Greece”
Bam: “Ima try to come. Now I’m not by myself”
Giannis: “No, I know. Come to Greece with your wife. Your wife, sorry. I don’t know if you’re married.”

The basketball power couple could be trending in that direction, as they've become more publicly supportive of one another over time.
Regardless, it's a cool invite by Antetokounmpo, even if he may have unintentionally advanced Adebayo and Wilson's relationship forward.
