Just got done reading this non-fiction account of two soldiers beginning in their pre-Vietnam days in Africa continuing therough their heroics in Vietnam and concluding just after 9/11 where one of them was the VP of security for Morgan Stanley who managed to get all but 6 of his 1,000+ employees out of the WTC--largely because he ignored orders from the Port Athourity to stay put.

Awesome read. Parts were very sad, parts were very inspiring.

This book also prompted me to pick up "We Were Soldiers Once...and Young." It was okay. This one reads a lot more dry than "Heart of a Soldier," but it has some overlapping (for lack of a better term) characters. This is the book on which Mel Gibson's "We Were Soldiers" is based.
