Hardy suspended for 10 games

Yep. Look I hate Dallas as much as the next guy, but this is ridiculous and flies in the face of the court decision they JUST dealt with in the Rice case.

IMO having already missed 15 games, he will win an appeal and get 4-6 games instead.

I heard they are saying that they are taking into account all 4 instances of abuse as seperate cases as well as the testimony about the assult weapons he owns and added it all up to 10 games. This one could stick and get reduced just a few games. A lot different than Ray Rice and AP.

I have heard about four separate instances but in a quick google, I only found the one main offense so only listed that one.

“The NFL’s investigation concluded that Hardy violated the Personal Conduct Policy by using physical force against Nicole Holder in at least four instances,” the release explains. “First, he used physical force against her which caused her to land in a bathtub. Second, he used physical force against her which caused her to land on a futon that was covered with at least four semi-automatic rifles. Third, he used physical force against her by placing his hands around Ms. Holder’s neck and applying enough pressure to leave visible marks. And fourth, he used physical force to shove Ms. Holder against a wall in his apartment’s entry hallway.”

“The net effect of these acts was that Ms. Holder was severely traumatized and sustained a range of injuries, including bruises and scratches on her neck, shoulders, upper chest, back, arms and feet,” Commissioner Goodell wrote in the letter communicating Hardy’s suspensions. “The use of physical force under the circumstances present here, against a woman substantially smaller than you and in the presence of powerful, military-style assault weapons, constitutes a significant act of violence in violation of the Personal Conduct Policy.”

The NFL also found that Hardy failed to provide “complete and accurate information” to the league in conjunction with the investigation. The investigation included photographs of injuries to Nicole Holder.

All charges against him were dismissed in February.

He has petitioned to have the charges expunged from his record. As long as he has no past felony convictions, the charges will be expunged.

Not dismissing what he did, just pointing out that he is legally in the clear.

So was OJ. The NFL is a private company that can discipline its employees how it seems fit within the collective bargaining agreement. And since a judge did find him guilty and those court records were provided to the NFL, they have enough information to make their own judgement.

Washington did not hit her and he did man up and accept all blame. Just not sure why you are trying to compare the two instances. They are not where near the same.

That is like saying murder is murder when there is cold blooded murder and self protection murder. Not everything is that black and white. According to the police report the woman was throwing flower pots and etc and charged him/jumped on him and he pushed her off and she broke her collarbone.

If you equate that to what I quoted earlier about Hardy dragging her around by her hair, chucking her across the house and choking her while telling her he was going to kill her, than there really is no reason to discuss it further as I disagree wholeheartedly that they are one in the same.

Police later interviewed the woman, and their report noted her clavicle injury along with "road-rash type of scrapes, bruising and cuts to her right arm, right hip and right leg," according to The AP.

Prosecutor Adena Astrowsky and Washington's attorney Phillip Noland spent the roughly 20-minute hearing disagreeing about whether or not Washington's offense should be re-labeled as a misdemeanor. It is currently undesignated, meaning that the felony charge will be reclassified a misdemeanor if he meets the terms of his probation.

Where did I say he was a Boy Scout? And where did it say he hit her? Read the police report. She was attacking him and he shoved her to the group. Bad? Yes! In the same realm of Hardy? No!

But McCoy said Washington was an excellent candidate for probation because he lacks a criminal history and his remorse seemed genuine. He sentenced him to one year probation. If he does not do well on probation, he could have to serve 120 days in jail, but McCoy said he doubted that would happen.

"I have to try it as if it were anybody else, in fairness," McCoy said.

"I wouldn't give anybody else a misdemeanor on this," McCoy added. "I don't think it would be appropriate to give Mr. Washington a misdemeanor on this."

McCoy said the charge could be designated as a misdemeanor if he hears Washington is doing well six months from now. He also urged the NFL to act based off Washington's conduct, not the designation.

First of all, he just wanted to see her daughter and take her to visit the grandmother but the ex said no, then he was so pissed off and took her phone and went toward his car, the woman yelled at him,throwing a plant pot, after he grabbed her neck and shoved her off....
