The Schuylkill League is once again well-represented on the Pennsylvania High School Softball Coaches Association All-State teams.
Over two dozen athletes made the All-State teams, while one local star took home the overall Pennsylvania Player of the Year.
Those who followed the local action all season won’t be surprised that the player recognized is Pine Grove Area outfielder Callee Leffler.
Leffler finished her historic high school career with a senior season to remember, hitting .629/.757/1.714 with 18 home runs and 50 RBI.
The overall Pennsylvania pitcher of the Year was Bria Bosiljevac of Shaler Area. The senior had a perfect 19-0 record this season with a 0.50 ERA and struck out 243.
At the Class 4A level, seven players were named All-Stars, with four representatives from Blue Mountain and three from North Schuylkill.
Earning first-team selections were Blue Mountain pitcher Emily Leonard, first baseman Anna Borden, and outfielder Addyson Fishburn. North Schuylkill catcher Gianna Capone was named first-team catcher, as was first baseman Jordanna Frie.
The Class 4A second-team selections included Blue Mountain catcher Emmerson Frie and North Schuylkill pitcher Brigid Flynn.
At the Class 3A level, Pine Grove had seven selections, including three first-team selections.
Joining Callee Leffler as first-team selections were pitcher Jamie Dinger and second baseman Lily Flynn. Pitcher Chelcy Clark, catcher Tailyn Bohr, third baseman Meadow Umbenhauer, and shortstop Hannah Aungst all earned second-team selections.
Also earning a first-team selection was Lourdes/Mount Carmel Area utility player Arianna Adams.
Seven Class 2A players earned selections. The lone first-team selection was Schuylkill Haven third baseman Aisley Jenan, while her teammates, shortstop Joie Schoffstall and pitcher Alli Scherer, both earned second-team selections.
Williams Valley also saw four players earn All-State honors, all second-team selections: catcher Quin Smeltz, second baseman Cierra Brill, shortstop Ella Kobularik and utility Liv Hand.
Finally, in Class 1A Tri-Valley, second baseman Summer Cupsta and Marian third baseman Malina Letcher both were first-team selections. While Bulldogs’ third baseman Liv Witmer and outfielder Savannah Stiely both earned second-team selections alongside Marian catcher Hailey Treskolasky and shortstop DeAnna Pugh.
