The Guardians returned to action last night with a 6-4 win over a good team in the Seattle Mariners.

I recapped the game here. Tanner Bihee exited after 78 pitches with shoulder inflammation. He’ll be re-evaluated on Saturday, but that sounds like an IL stint to me.

Expect plenty of national attention for Chase DeLauter if he continues to do anything like his first game. Zack Meisel focused in on him in his recap. I liked the Guardians’ lineup from Vogt, but I’d have lifted Angel Martinez for CJ Kayfus to face the RHP Martinez saw in his second at-bat.

Zack Meisel wrote an incredibly good piece on Jose Ramirez, the Guardians and another season of hope.

The Guardians play the Mariners again tonight at 9:45PM ET. Gavin Williams vs. George Kirby.

AROUND MLB:

The Tigers beat the Padres 8-2, the Orioles beat the Twins 2-1, and the Brewers crushed the White Sox 14-2.

The Cardinals and Rays had a wild one.
