Guardians' Kyle Manzardo lost a popup in the sun while his sunglasses were on his hat originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.

The sun was out in Cleveland on Sunday.

Kyle Manzardo had his sunglasses out at first base with him, too. The problem is that they weren't on his face.

It came to an ugly peak when a popup into foul territory just beside first base evaded Manzardo. He lost it in the sun.

His sunglasses were on his hat the whole time.

Guardians color commentator Rick Manning couldn't believe it:

Manzardo loses a ball in the sun with sunglasses on his hat and Rick Manning goes off

“Does he have sunglasses on top of his hat?”

Manning has a solid point to gripe here.

Some players like sunglasses better than others, but if you've got them out there, and it's sunny, it seems you'd want them on your face.

Sure, there's always a chance Manzardo would've lost this baseball in the sky anyway, but it's probably a way smaller possibility if he's got the shades on.

It didn't matter in the long run, because the Guardians went on to win 10-3. But any pitcher who induces a weak popup like that won't appreciate his teammate not snagging it.

Manzardo might want to actually wear his sunglasses when the sun is out from now on.
