Hard to think of a better way to celebrate a Sunday win than an engagement.
That's what Cleveland Guardians catcher Austin Hedges had on his mind after a win over the Baltimore Orioles. He had a proposal to make.
With help from the scoreboard, Hedges proposed to his significant other, Lexi Dickinson.
And yeah, she said yes.

Hedges spoke with reporters after the game to share how the plan came together.
“I figured out this is what I was going to do only a couple weeks ago,” Hedges said, via Cleveland.com. “But I’ve had the ring since early spring training, just trying to figure out when the right time was.”
Hedges admitted he was going to propose Sunday win or lose, but the win made it better.
“I was really hoping we won the game,” Hedges said. “I was going to do it regardless, but I really wanted to win that game to make it extra special.”
And yeah, he was nervous.
“There were a lot of nerves, a lot of nerves,” Hedges said. “I’m always nervous for baseball games… and just trying to stay present, knowing that there were some activities after. But it’s a special day. Special to be able to soak it all in.”
Hedges and Dickinson became a couple in November 2024. She's an aesthetic nurse practitioner and a sports-style influencer who shares wellness and fashion content, according to Cleveland.com.
The veteran Hedges is having his best hitting season in a long time so far.
On Sunday, though, he had the biggest success of the season, and it had nothing to do with a baseball.
