GREEN BAY – The Green Bay Packers released veteran cornerback Trevon Diggs, the team announced in a Jan. 20 press release.

The Packers claimed the 2021 first-team All-Pro and sixth-year veteran off waivers from the Dallas Cowboys on Dec. 31 to add depth and experience to the cornerback room. The Packers placed Nate Hobbs on injured reserve the day of the signing.

Diggs played 33 defensive snaps in the Packers’ regular-season finale against the Minnesota Vikings and had two solo tackles in the game. He played just one snap in the first quarter of the Packers’ wild-card loss to the Chicago Bears and finished with an assisted tackle.

In addition to Diggs’ release, the Packers signed defensive lineman Jaden Crumedy and quarterback Kyle McCord to reserve/future contracts.

Crumedy was a sixth-round draft pick in 2024 and spent the last two seasons with the Carolina Panthers’ active roster and practice squad. The 6-foot-4, 301-pound tackle appeared in eight games and had 15 total tackles (four solo), 0.5 sack and a QB hit.

McCord was selected by the Philadelphia Eagles in the sixth round in last year’s draft. He spent his entire rookie season on the practice squad.
