The Giants selected Abdul Carter with the No. 3 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Let's break down how Big Blue did on Day 1...
The Giants got a player many around the league believe was the best prospect in this year's class. He is an elite-level edge defender thanks to his bend and speed. He has the versatility to stand up and move around. His 12 sacks a season ago with Penn State was a glimpse of what he can become.
The Giants still need to find their quarterback, but general manager Joe Schoen made it clear he will not force the issue. He believed Cam Ward to be that player. That's why he made such an aggressive push to get him. When the Titans wouldn't move the No. 1 pick, he pivoted. Carter steps in and instantly gives the Giants one of the most ferocious rushes in the entire league (Dexter Lawrence, Brian Burns, Kayvon Thibodeaux).
The key for the Giants now is to spend the rest of the draft improving their offense, which finished last season ranked 31st in the NFL. They not only need a quarterback, but guard, running back and potentially receiving help. They have their second-round pick and two third rounds to address those spots.
