After impressive performances in the G-League, the Golden State Warriors signed LJ Cryer to a two-way contract in December. This gave Cryer a chance to make his NBA debut, having gone undrafted after five seasons of college basketball, three with Baylor and two with Houston.
Cryer took this opportunity and didn't look back. The 24-year-old rookie was quite impressive, averaging 8.2 points, 1.6 rebounds and one assist in 18 games, averaging 16.2 minutes per contest. Cryer's shooting numbers were quite solid as a point guard, shooting 40.2% from the field, 39.4% from 3-point range and 89.5% from the free-throw line. Additionally, despite Golden State's turnover woes, Cryer was one of nine players on the team to average less than one turnover per game out of the 22 total that suited up for Golden State throughout the year. All in all, these were solid numbers from Cryer, especially considering his status as a rookie. Luckily for the Warriors, Cryer has one more year remaining on his current two-way contract, giving him a chance to appear in a maximum of 50 games for Golden State next season.
