Glendale FD: Eleven people suffer heat related illnesses at Cardinals game

http://www.abc15.com//news/region-w...0&spJobID=621529454&spReportId=NjIxNTI5NDU0S0

Eleven people were taken to a hospital during the Arizona Cardinals game at the University of Phoenix Stadium, officials said.

Glendale fire officials transported a total of 11 individuals to hospitals after they suffered from heat related illnesses.

Temperatures reached 115 degrees during the game, and Glendale Fire Captain Tom Lazzara said those transported were mostly security staff who needed medical attention.

Did they think the game was at Sun Devil Stadium?

They had a short story about the problems caused by the heat on 'Good Morning America' today.

They also showed Dr. J meeting the female ref and made mention of the Cards making NFL history.

How stupid do you have to be to tailgate in 115 degrees? We tailgate during the reg season, but won't at all during pre season...it's way too hot.

11 people...seriously....people are stupid!

Sounds like it was mainly security staffers that probably have to work outside.

We arrived about 45 minutes before kickoff, planning on parking in our usual spot in the Orange lot, near the line of outhouses and close to Bethany Home Road. You get RIGHT out of the parking lot from there. Well, the security jackwagons had CLOSED that lot, though there were already a small number of cars in there. So we had to go the other direction, towards the center of parking, which was kinda a cluster. On the way out, passing our desired lot, it was full - so they did wind up opening it up eventually. NOT HAPPY!! The little woman was coming off a flu bug so the heat walking to/from the stadium was almost enough to knock her over. I'm ready for late October.

There was recently a "heat advisory" in Minnesota (including the Twin Cities) because it was going to "possibly hit 90 degrees."

I think our low was 93 degrees during the same time. LOL

Yeah, but those midwest states often don't have A/C like we do. At least not central air. So 93 can suuuuuuuck.

But still. Pansies.
