University of Arizona bans most purses at sporting events

TUCSON, AZ - Sports fans attending University of Arizona home games will no longer be allowed to bring most bags inside athletic venues.
The university announced Wednesday that starting Dec. 9 at the men's basketball came against Fresno State, fans will have to open their jackets and remove their hats before security searches while entering the arena.
Only clear plastic bags will be allowed in the venue.
Diaper bags, camera bags, computer bags, backpacks, fanny packs, briefcases and large seat cushions that have covers, zippers, pockets or compartments are now banned from sporting events.
