GLADEWATER, Texas (KETK) -- The Gladewater Bears, in Jermaine Lewis' first season as head coach, went unbeaten in district play a season ago, claimed the district title, making it to the area round of the postseason.
Gladewater Bears defeat Atlanta Rabbits, keep perfect record in district
The Bears won their first playoff game since 20-21, and return a ton of starters on both sides of the football.
Coach Lewis might be entering his second season as head coach, but he is not new to the Gladewater community, and as he begins to put his fingerprints on this program, the players are beginning to buy in, because after just one year, they've seen the results on the field.
Gladewater will open the season with a big home test when the Daingerfield Tigers come to town.
Kickoff will be at 7:30, on Friday, August 28th, at Jack V. Murphy Stadium.
