Kicking continues to be a problem for both the New York Giants and a North Jersey native.

The team announced on Dec. 16 that it waived Younghoe Koo after a tumultuous, and viral, tenure in East Rutherford. The next kicker will be the fourth one used by the Giants this season following Graham Gano, Koo and Jude McAtamney.

Koo, 31, struggled in his five games with the Giants in 2025 after starting the season with the Atlanta Falcons. He went 4-for-6 on field goals and 11-for-12 on extra points, but his most famous moment came on Monday Night Football against the New England Patriots.

While attempting a 46-yard field goal, Koo botched the kick by ramming his foot into the ground before making contact with the ball. Koo remained stuck as his momentum stopped, and holder Jamie Gillan was left holding the ball and was swarmed by Patriots.

Over eight NFL seasons, Koo has made 85.3 percent of his field goals. He played high school football at Ridgewood High School.
