San Francisco signed outfielder Will Brennan to a one-year contract Sunday.
He elected free agency from Cleveland on Nov. 21, 2025 and was added to the Giants' 40-man roster. Brennan appeared in six games last year after undergoing season-ending Tommy John surgery on his left elbow in June 2025.
He played for the Guardians from 2022-25, making his Major League Baseball debut on Sept. 21, 2022.
In 269 career games, Brennan has recorded a .267 batting average, 218 hits, 38 doubles, three triples, 14 home runs, 79 RBIs and 84 runs. He played at Kansas State and was selected in the eighth round of the 2019 MLB draft by Cleveland (No. 250 overall).
Former Tennessee head coach Tony Vitello enters his first season as San Francisco's manager.
He served as the Vols' head coach from 2018-25, compiling a 341–131 (125–85 SEC) record at Tennessee.
Vitello guided the Vols to a 2024 national championship, two SEC Tournament titles (2022, 2024), two SEC regular season championships (2022, 2024) and three College World Series appearances (2021, 2023-24).
