UPDATE: The Giants issued a clarification about how they laid out their initial depth chart.
Regarding the wide receiver spots behind Darius Slayton, this is the order of players: Darnell Mooney, Odell Beckham, JuJu Smith-Schuster, Jalin Hyatt, Dalen Cambre and Xavier Gipson.
So Beckham is third on the depth chart at that spot, while Smith-Schuster is fourth and Hyatt is fifth.
And this is how things look (again, in order) behind Malik Nabers: Calvin Austin (who is the top slot receiver), Malachi Fields, Braxton Berrios, Isaiah Hodgins, and Ryan Miller.

The Giants on Wednesday released their first (unofficial) depth chart, in advance of Saturday’s preseason opener against the Vikings.
Obviously, how coach John Harbaugh deploys personnel Saturday matters more than the depth chart released Wednesday.
But once-great wide receiver Odell Beckham’s position on that depth chart is perhaps noteworthy, as he tries to make the Giants’ initial 53-man roster coming out of training camp.
Beckham has done OK so far in this camp, but he hasn’t exactly flashed. Then again, he doesn’t really have stiff competition for the Giants’ final one or two roster spots at receiver.
The Giants’ first depth chart doesn’t list three receiver spots, but rather, two. Malik Nabers and Darius Slayton are unsurprisingly the starters. They’re obviously both outside receivers.
(Also: Will Nabers be ready for Week 1? If he’s not, the Giants might have to retain an extra receiver coming out of camp — perhaps Beckham.)
Behind Nabers is Calvin Austin (who seemingly is the Giants’ top slot receiver), with Malachi Fields and Isaiah Hodgins tied after that. Then comes Braxton Berrios and Ryan Miller tied for the fourth spot.
Behind Slayton, Darnell Mooney and Jalin Hyatt are tied on the second line. Then Beckham is tied with Dalen Cambre on the third line. That spot is rounded out by JuJu Smith-Schuster and Xavier Gipson in a fourth-string tie.
These receivers are going to stick around after camp: Nabers, Slayton, Austin, Mooney and Fields. That much we know.
But who will get the final one or two spots? Beckham is battling Berrios and Smith-Schuster (two other fading veterans). Also in the mix are Hodgins and Hyatt (who is still just 24 but has done next to nothing through three NFL seasons).
Smith-Schuster is currently sidelined by a knee issue, so he seems like a long shot to make the team. It’s notable that Berrios is listed as the Giants’ top punt returner, ahead of Austin and Gipson. That could give Berrios an edge over Beckham, who doesn’t play special teams.
Hyatt has not out-performed Beckham in this camp. Plus, Hyatt suffered an apparent knee injury during Monday’s practice and didn’t participate Tuesday. So his health status is unclear. He can’t afford to miss time.
